2025 success celebrated in style in Granagh Community Centre:
Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club celebrated their achievements in 2025 both on and off the field on Friday night in Granagh Community Centre, with medal presentations to their successful U16 double (hurling and football), U17 and Minor hurling County championship winning teams.
Those who graced the presentation with their presence over the years were again very much in evidence and there were also some new people. MC for the night Jimmy Chawke welcomed everyone, especially guest of honour, our own Maurice Noonan, 2025 Munster Hurling/Camogie Club All-Ireland 5-in-a-row winning captain and All Star hurler and All Ireland senior hurling medal winners with Limerick in 2018 Shane Dowling of Na Piarsaigh. The trophies on display were Jim (Twin) Lynch Memorial Cup, Dunworth Cup, County U16 Division 3 Hurling Championship Cup, Stephen O’Keeffe Memorial Cup, League and All Ireland Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie Cups. The honour of presenting the 2025 County Minor C Hurling Championship, U17 Hurling Division 4 League and Under 16 Division 3 Hurling and Division 4 Football Championship medals were accorded to guest of honour Maurice Noonan and Shane Dowling. Special presentations were also made to the minor hurling team management of Denis O’Connor, Paudie Murphy, Darragh Casey, Joseph Quille Mulcaire and Eoin Lynch; U16 hurling and football team management Noel Noonan, Pat Carroll and Donal O’Grady, U17 hurling manager Noel Noonan, Intermediate Hurling Jim (Twin) Lynch Memorial and Dunworth Cup winning team management John O’Connor, Ger Ryan and Mark O’Sullivan, Christine O’Connell and John O’Riordan RIP, County Solo Singing Scór winners 2025 Maurice Noonan in recognition for captaining Munster Hurling/Camogie Club to League and five All-Irelands in-a-row, appointed vice captain of the Irish Wheelchair Para Floorball team and received All-Star Midfielder and Hurler of the Year award 2025, Donal O’Grady in recognition for managing Limerick’s minor hurling team in 2025, Intermediate Hurler of the Year John Kealy, Joint Junior A Footballer of the Year Jack Cagney and David Clancy, Junior B Hurler of the Year Keith O’Kelly, Most dedicated Adult Player of the Year Paulie Murphy, Club Service Awards to Conor O’Keeffe and John Chawke, U14, U15 and U16 West and County Academy awards, Bord na nÓg Club Person of the Year Charlotte Hanley and Adult Club Person of the Year Tricia Clancy.urler o
Recognition presentations were made to Adrian Farragher for his outstanding service as club treasurer 2019 to 2025, Cormac McCarthy, Bord na nÓg chairperson 2024 to 2025, Claire Gilbourne and Seamus Twomey for being appointed County Bord na nÓg Chairperson 2026; Jimmy Chawke who did an excellent job as MC; guest Maurice Noonan and Shane Dowling, Eddie Guiry of the Weekly Observer/Vale Star and Charlotte Haley for taking photos; Granagh Community Centre committee for the use of the hall; Seamus and Janet Twomey and family of the Rock Bar, Granagh for the finger food, sandwiches and light refreshments served on night. Finally well done top all in the club who help out in any way to make our club medal presentation awards presentation such a success at Granagh Community Centre on Friday night.
115 players present at Bord na nOg Presentation Night:
115 players were present at a most enjoyable Granagh-Ballingarry Bord na nÓg awards presentation on Sunday 1st March in Ballingarry community hall. MC Seamus Twomey welcome everyone especially the players, their coaches, parents and club officials. Presentations were made to all the panel from U6 to U12 in hurling and football along with the ten members of the Granagh-Ballingarry Ballers, an inclusive class for all abilities for 4-8 year olds. Thank you to Seamus Twomey who did an excellent job as MC; Fergal Noonan, Pat Carroll and Tricia Clancy for the tea and goodies served; Bord na nÓg chairperson Eddie O’Brien, Charlotte Hanley for taking photos and John Joe Carmody and all the Ballingarry Hall committee and everyone who helped in any way to make the night so enjoyable.
2026 County GAA Club Draw:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club are once more promoting the Limerick County Club Draw. There will be monthly draws from March to December with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1,000, 5th Executive Star Prize, 6th to 9th €500, 10th to 13th €300, 14th to 30th €200. Our club had approximately 198 members in the 2025 draw and six winners, Club Chairperson Andrew Holmes and Noreen Hennessy won €200 in the first draw in March, Mary Horgan €200 in July, Richard Chawke €200 in August, David O’Hanlon €10,000 and Paudie O’Sullivan €2,000 in November. 2026 Club Draw:
The Granagh Ballingarry 2026 Club draw will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes: 1st €1,000 with ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery draw for €150 and the club draw lottery/county club draw for €200. If you wish to renew your membership please contact our promoter on or before 19th March as the first County Club Draw will take place on Saturday 28th March.
Club Membership 2026:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club membership fees for 2026 are fixed at €100 to include membership of the club draw. Bord na nÓg players €50 (€90 maximum for two or more players), students €50, adult players €180 to include membership of club draw. Players to register online to pay fees through Foireann@gaa.ie as per official guide before training and the playing season commence. Note All membership fees to be paid on or before Tuesday 31st March.
National Club Draw 2026 Support:
The 2026 GAA National Club draw will take place on Wednesday 25th March in Croke Park, offering clubs a major risk free fundraising opportunity. Each club can sell up to 2,000 tickets at €15 keeping 100% of all proceeds with all prizes and production costs covered by Croke Park. A club selling 200+ will also be entered into a bonus draw for €1,000. Physical tickets are available on request to nationalclubdraw@gaa.ie while online sales can be managed through Foireann using the guidance link provided. Supporters will be in with a chance to win fantastic prizes, including a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, All Ireland final weekend packages, a €2,500 holiday voucher and more. Clubs meeting the participation criteria (selling 200+ tickets, uploading all sales to Foireann and complying with draw terms) will also enter exclusive club draws for €5,000, €1,000 per County and €1,000 for the highest selling club in each province. Key dates include 9th March (Club declarations and ticket returns), 20th March (County liaison officer verification) and 25th March (draw day). Foireann continues to make selling tickets easier than ever. Clubs can sell NCD tickets online to signed-in users and now for 2026 can create payment links that allow members, supporters and friends to purchase tickets to support their club via quick guest check-out with no need to log into Foireann. This makes it easier to share tickets more widely and maximise participation and sales. Croke Park are aware of unauthorised third party platforms promoting themselves as options for selling NCD tickets online. Please disregard these approaches and only use the approved system for all online sales. Munster Championship Tickets:
Tickets for the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championship games will go on sale in the first week in April, available via www.goal.ie/tickets.ticketmaster and selected Centra and SuperValu outlets. Limerick County GAA Board launched their 2026 season tickets recently. The tickets will entitle the bearer entry to all Limerick County Board Club games in 2026 for €150. It would make an ideal present for a family member or friend and can be purchased online at limerickgaa.ie Tel (061) 335576.

Clare Ease to Third League Win:

Clare 1-21 Limerick 1-12
Clare took their third brace of points in Div 3 of the National Football League with a comfortable nine point, 1-21 to 1-12, victory over gallant Limerick under lights in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale, on Saturday, to go joint second on the table on 6 points, with Wexford and Westmeath, and Limerick into the relegation zone second from the bottom on 3 points, ahead of pointless Fermanagh. The Limerick boys’ next outing is against joint second on 6 points with Clare and Wexford Westmeath on Sunday 15th March in Cusack Park, Mullingar, where a win is a must for the Shannonsiders to avoid the drop back down to Div 4 for 2027.

Hearty congratulations to the Limerick Senior Hurling Manager John Kiely, our own Donal and Darragh O’Grady and the rest of the management team on their eight point, 2-19 to 0-17, victory over gallant Offaly to secure their third successive win in Div 1A of the National Hurling League at O’Connor Park, Tullamore on Sunday to go second on the table on 6 points, two behind neighbours and holders Cork who they play in Round 6 on this Saturday 7th March at 7pm in Páirc na Gael. Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stakes 2026:
The launch of the 13tg annual Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake takes place on Thursday 12th March at Limerick Greyhound Stadium at 6.30pm. Light bites and refreshments will be served in the stadium. The launch of the Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake 2026 is sponsored by JP and Noreen McManus. Club information packs will also be available for collection.
County Senior Scor Finals:
Tommy O’Riordan represented Granagh Ballingarry very well in the solo singing competition at the 2026 Limerick County Senior Scor Final held in Askeaton on Friday night, but it was Patrick Mullane of Gerald Griffin’s who took the honours in a very close contest. Thank you to Irish officer, Christine O’Connell and Tommy who represented our club with pride and all the supporters who travelled to Askeaton on Friday night.
Easter Camp:
For the first time ever, Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club will be hosting an Easter Camp for our underage teams, 6 to 13 year olds in Ballingarry from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 10th April, 10am to 1pm. The camp will be run by a great mix of our adult members and some of our older underage players – a brilliant opportunity for the younger kids to learn from them and have lots of fun along the way. Cost €50 for the first child, €30 for any subsequent children (same family). Registration online. Payment will be taken on the first day of camp. Ballingarry Bingo:
Get read for a great night of fun and excitement at the bingo taking place on Thursday 12th March at 8pm in Ballingarry Hall. It’s a very special occasion as bingo is back in Ballingarry after 40 years. This event marks the revival of the much loved Canon Lyons Bingo, bringing a cherished local tradition back to the parish once again. With a prize fund of €2,000 and great raffle prizes, it promises to be an enjoyable night for both regular bingo players and newcomers who would like to give it a try. The night is being held in aid of the maintenance of Ballingarry Parish Hall, so every line played helps support the local community. Over 18s and cash only. All welcome.

€14,400 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €14,300 jackpot in the Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club lottery draw on Saturday 28th February in Condron’s Bar, Ballingarry. The numbers draw were 7, 16, 18 and 28. The lucky dip winners of €20 each were Breda O’Kelly, Cora Moran, Pat Rourke and Paul McCarthy. The next draw will be held on Saturday 7th March in the Rock Bar, Granagh for a jackpot of €14,400. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shps, bars and from promoters. You can also buy the weekly draw online available on the club’s Facebook or Twitter page which finishes at 6pm every Saturday.
