Dromcollogher/Broadford 3-12 Gerard Griffins 1-10
This was our third win of the season in the Football League, played down in Dromcollogher on Saturday last, our scores on the night were: Kevin Noonan (0-8, 2 two pointers one from play and the other play from a free, 4f), Sean Madden (1-0), Ryan Sheehan (1-0), Tommy Ryan (1-0), Danny Mullane (0-2, a two pointer), Micheál Fahy (0-2). The table after three rounds reads as follows: Ahane 6 points +16, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 6 points +21, Gerald Griffins 2 points -10, Crecora/ Mainster 2 points -11, Glin no points -4, Claughaun no points -22.
Dromcollogher/Broadford took an early lead with a goal by Sean Madden and two points from Kevin Noonan in the first 11 minutes of the game and then Gerald Griffins responded with a point, narrowing the gap to a single goal. Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next 1-5 of the game Ryan Sheehan with goal in the 17th minute of the game and then we scored two pointers one coming from Kevin Noonan a free and the other coming Danny Mullane from play and the other point came from Micheál Fahy to leave 12 points between the sides and Gerald Griffins scored the next 1-1 of the game with goal coming in the 25th minute of the game to leave eight points between the sides. Kevin Noonan of Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next point from a free to leave nine points between the sides and Gerald Griffins scored the last point of the half to leave eight points between the sides. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford were 2-8 to 1-3.
Gerald Griffins scored the first three points of the second half a two pointer from a free and the other point from a free to leave five points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next three points to with two of these points coming from Kevin Noonan and the other point coming from Micheál Fahy to leave eight points between the sides once again. Gerard Griffins scored the next point a two pointer to leave six points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next 1-1 with the goal coming from Tommy Ryan with 53 minutes gone in the game and pointed free from Kevin Noonan to leave ten points between the sides. Gerald Griffins scored the last two pointed free of the game to leave eight points between the sides at end of the game. We got our first win over Cappagh/ Rathkeale in the All-County football hurling league opener played in the Bog Garden, Rathkeale on last Wednesday night. The scores on the night were: Tieran O’Flynn, Liam Wright (1-1), Micheál O’Kelly (1-0), Ben Lenihan (1-0), Alan Cussen (0-1). Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the first 1-1 of the game with goal coming from Micheal O’Kelly with a minute goal in the game and the point came from Liam Wright to leave four points and then a point came from Cappagh/Rathkeale a goal point between the sides. Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next 1-1 of the game with the goal coming from Liam Wright with 8 minutes gone in the game and the point came from Tieran O’Flynn to leave seven points between the sides and then Cappagh/ Rathkeale scored the next 1-1 of the game with the goal coming in the 11th minute of the game to leave three points between the sides. Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the two points, and these points came from Brendan Meehan and Tiernan O’Flynn to leave five points between the sides and then Cappagh/Rathkeale scored the next four points to leave a point between the sides. Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next 1-2 of the game with 30 minutes gone in the game to leave six points between the sides at the break. To Limerick minor hurlers management team led by Diarmuid Mullins and especially to our club player Colin Burke against Clare, Limerick defeated Clare on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-12, Colin Burke came on a sub in the second half of the game, in the Electric Ireland minor hurling championship round 2.
Hard Luck:
To Limerick senior football management team led by Jimmy Lee and especially to our club captain Cillian Fahy and Micheál Fahy against Cork, Cork defeated Limerick on a scoreline of 4-16 to 1-16, Cillian scored a point, in the Munster senior football championship quarter final.
To Limerick minor football management team led by Garrett Noonan and especially to our club players Séan O’Flynn and Ollie Stokes against Waterford, Waterford defeated Limerick on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-13, Sean O’Flynn started and Ollie Stokes came on sub late on the in the game and scored a point in the Electric Ireland minor football championship phase 1 round 3.
